There’s not much to say on this one. Mitt Romney, with his failed Presidential run in 2008, is getting an early start on his attempt to establish himself as the GOP front-runner for the 2012 election. That’s a good thing, if you are not supporting any major party’s candidate in the next Presidential election. If there was any chance of an Independent or 3rd party candidate having a chance to become the U.S. President in 2012, it would be promising with Romney (r) and Obama (d).

I don’t think Americans will want to continue down the socialist/progressive abyss that Obama has us sliding into. So, I think he’s toast in 2012.  Romney just doesn’t have a clue as to what he does or does not stand for, politically. I believe he’s another progressive Republican (think McCain, Lieberman, Specter) yellow dog. In other words, he will blow with the political winds of change.  As reported by the Washington Examiner’s  Gene Healy,

There’s more to the presidency than looking the part, however. Conservatives ought to take a good look at the Romney record and ask themselves whether a man of such flexible convictions is the best they can do.

Well Romney, as Massachusetts’ Governor, has instituted a health care system that Obama’s handlers have modeled their reform bill after.  If you were not already familiar with that Romney disaster, here’s the breaking story in 2006. Yes, Mitt’s plan for coverage is compulsory, with fines placed on those who refused state sponsored health care, when it is not employer-provided.  As noted in the article,

The governor’s plan was endorsed by Democrats. And before long, it had attracted a coalition of business leaders and consumer advocates, insurance executives and clergymen, hospital CEO’s and poor people.

Of course, the democrats supported it. Subsidizing anything with taxpayer dollars to redistribute wealth to the poor is a no-brainer with those folks.

Back to the Examiner article, Healy states,

Given Romney’s pernicious influence on the health care debate, maybe he should go on an apology tour himself.

I don’t think this guy needs to apologize.  He is what he is, a progressive Republican.  Romney’s great health care system reform accounts for approximately 1/3 of his state’s $1.3 bil budget deficit.  That’s what America will receive if Obama gets this Romney-like plan for America passed.

If that wasn’t enough to convince someone that this guy is a progressive at heart, consider the fact, that he’s really a pro-choice supporter.  Of course, he flip-floped on that issue when he entered the race for gop presidential nomination in 2008.  He also was a flip flopper when he decided to run against fellow progressive Ted Kennedy for Congress in 1994.

When asked pointedly, he would not denounce the Presidential action of citizen detention without review and he supports military expenditure increases.

While Romney is no conservative, I hope he somehow fools the GOP into accepting his self-proclaimed front-runner status.  This would be the best chance of beating both the (d) and (r) in the 2012 Presidential election.  So with any luck, it will be ultra-progressive versus progressive-lite, with a 3rd party candidate stepping in to steal the limelight and become our next President.

Maybe people just don’t want to see America’s health care system taken over by the inept Federal Government, which screws up absolutely everything they touch. That aside, before any meaningful dialog is to occur in this area, there has to be serious reform regarding America’s immigration policy. Specifically, removing the illegals and concentrating efforts on legal Americans. Currently, there are approximately 11.5 million illegals in America. If there were any kind of government sponsored, backed, or subsidized health care, look at the costs to Americans for their current care.

According to Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the cost of treating illegal aliens amounts to nearly $11 billion a year and that cost is not expected to go away if a health insurance reform bill becomes law.

What do you think will happen if such a boondoggled health care plan were to become law? More illegals would pour into the country looking for a piece of the handout. I think we know how our Federal Government feels about illegals from the words of Obama during his time this week with the leaders of Canada and Mexico,  calling for “aggressive action” on a number of fronts involving the three countries:

“But ultimately I think the American people want fairness,” he said. “And we can create a system in which you have strong border security, we have an orderly process for people to come in, but we’re also giving an opportunity for those who are already in the United States to be able to achieve a pathway to citizenship so that they don’t have to live in the shadows and their children and their grandchildren can have a full participation in — in the United States.

Mr. Obama,  like all the progressives, most of the moderates, and some of the “so-called conservative” politicians, must be viewing illegal immigration in terms of a potential voting base. They seem to dismiss the legal precedents and ramifications of ignoring laws in which most legal Americans want applied.

How about creating a jobs bill with the stimulus money to crack down on the illegals and maximize on-site raids and crushing penalties for employers. That’s one job bill I would agree with. So, how do the numbers shake out? According to Newsmax.com in their article, Obama Health Plan to Cover 12 Million Illegals

The estimates of illegal aliens in the United States without health insurance vary. The most commonly cited statistic, attributed to the Center for Immigration Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau, holds that 15 percent to 22 percent of the nation’s 46 million uninsured are illegal aliens. That would be between 6.9 million and 10.1 million people.

One of the ironies of the proposed legislation is that it would fine American citizens who opt not to purchase insurance coverage, but would exempt illegals from such fines. This is presumably due to the fact that they are not supposed to participate in the program anyway.

I keep reading where the cost to average legal tax-paying family would only be about $11.00/month. How about $0.00? I care not to spend a dime on those people who explicitly disrespect the laws of our land, except to prosecute them in give them the boot. In the same aforementioned Newsmax article, it stated:

Political analyst Dick Morris, in his recently released best-selling book “Catastrophe”, warns that giving illegal free health care will lead to a flood of new illegals who can take advantage of such a benefit not offered in their home countries.

Why wouldn’t they jump all over this? It’s just another menu item for the current smörgåsbord of benefits we provide illegals, but not actual legal Americas. James R. Edwards Jr., co-author of The Congressional Politics of Immigration Reform, notes:

“The American people may soon realize how much health reform will benefit immigrants and cost the native-born. “When that happens, the volatile politics of immigration could derail universal health care.”

I personally believe that our health care in America is great, but needs reforming in terms of costs. Illegals are putting a strain on the current system and driving costs through the roof. We can start health care reform by taking away the awards given to illegals for breaking our laws. Not until then can we expect affordable health care.

I personally cannot afford health care for myself at $400.00-500.00/mo., so only my children have coverage. You won’t hear me whining that I deserve free health care though. I only desire affordable care.

So, as long as illegals are continue to receive preferential treatment, people like myself will continue to do without. A good start would be for our elected officials to uphold the Constitution of our great country and stop pandering to those who do not even have a right to be here. Before they can take serious action with reforming health care cost, they need to determine who actually should have access to it. Unfortunately, most of Congress is unwilling to do what most American desire.

Until we get rid of these traitors in our Federal Government, we will receive only lip service from them. Elect only those who care to abide by the laws of our land.

I live in S.C. District 4, making Bob Inglis my “representative”, and I use that term loosely. Inglis and I have been exchanging emails since I urged him to vote against the TARP bill, which of course he didn’t. Having never been a supporter of Inglis and knowing his progressive tendencies, I wasn’t surprised.

Inglis sent me one of his canned form letter (emails), bragging how a few of the banks have started to repay some of the TARP loans, in a effort to justify his misguided vote. I replied to the email, pointing out the article from the WSJ suggesting the taxpayer will never see the 180 billion given to AIG retuned to the treasury. I went on to suggest that we need to hold our representatives responsible for their actions. Inglis responded to my concerns with this little note:

Dear Scott,

I understand your disappointment. While I voted against the stimulus and all other bailouts, I did vote for the TARP because we were told our financial system was in danger of collapsing. And you are right, we politicians have to be accountable. I hope you will consider my whole record.

Best regards,
Bob Inglis

Well, I have considered your “whole record” and I hope your other constituents have as well. Let’s take a look at it, shall we?

Aside from a few wisely cast votes on immigration and gun rights, Inglis has a decidedly anti-liberty voting record. Looking back, many of his votes turned out to be badly misguided mistakes. Can we afford to send this man back to congress, yet again? Can Bob Inglis be trusted to make the right decisions? I say no.

Hopefully, the good people of S.C. are beginning to realize what many of us already knew, which is that Bob Inglis is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

..the Apollo Alliance is designed to bring together the elements of organized labor with the community organizers with the green groups, the environmental groups, and to access all of the big foundation money that’s been supportive of those causes in the past. link

Obama’s “Green Jobs” czar and avowed communist Van Jones is a board member of Apollo, which also has ties to ACORN, SEIU, and Center for American Progress president John Podesta.

Also on the board of Apollo is Wade Rathke, ACORN founder and until this year, on the board of the Tides Foundation and the Tides Center, which are the parent organizations of the Apollo Alliance.

Beck did an excellent job tying together the big picture in this clip..

It should be clear the far left in this country have a well devised plan, as well as a strategy to achieve their goals. Building off the disaster of TARP, which was devised and supported by the neocons, this administration has pushed through the scamulus, they are now pressing to nationalize our health care system and will soon attempt to implement the largest tax increase in history with the “Cap and Trade” energy tax bill.

Amnestizing 20 million illegals (plus millions more of their relatives) is next on the agenda for the Obama administration. This move will vastly expand and secure the lefts power base.  Once that happens, there will be no stopping them from forcing their socialist agenda on those of us who still believe in individual liberty and self-reliance over collectivism. You know, the principals spelled out  in that pesky little document called the constitution, on which our country was founded, and the document our elected officials seem to ignore and shred  at every opportunity.

The Obama administration is sending out its henchmen to disrupt the townhalls and intimidate citizens who oppose the current health reforms on the table.

Thugs from SEIU, ACORN and LaRAZA are now crowding out concerned citizens at these events,  as Obama calls in reinforcements.

To help push back, HCAN — whose members include ACORN, or the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now, the AFL-CIO, the Service Employees International Union, the National Education Association and the National Council of La Raza — issued some instructions of their own. The memo, e-mailed Tuesday to HCAN’s 120 field staffers in 44 states, encourages activists to contact elected officials before public events to plan ways to pre-empt the opposition.

“Ask the Member’s staff what would be most helpful and talk through a strategy for making sure the right messages don’t get drowned out by chaotic protesters,” field director Margarida Jorge advised. The memo’s introduction says she has “years of union organizing experience” and has “laid out tactics for people attending town halls to follow to blunt the right.”

Another one of Ms. Jorge’s tips is to “Address the [member of Congress] directly with a positive message: Remember, these Members need cover and they are getting beaten up by right wing zealots in these meetings.” link

The intimidation continues with the Whitehouse issuing a call for citizens to report individuals or websites who oppose the current health care reform bill.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov. link

Notice that the Whitehouse is asking that citizens who simply engage in “casual conversation” be reported. This is clearly an effort by the administration to create a enemies list and chill any dissent.

Far left columnist Paul Krugmen of the NYT has even trotted out the tired old racist argument, suggesting that citizens oppose Obama’s health care agenda because of the color of his skin.

The driving force behind the town hall mobs is probably the same cultural and racial anxiety that’s behind the “birther” movement, which denies Mr. Obama’s citizenship. Senator Dick Durbin has suggested that the birthers and the health care protesters are one and the same; we don’t know how many of the protesters are birthers, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s a substantial fraction.

And cynical political operators are exploiting that anxiety to further the economic interests of their backers.

Does this sound familiar? It should: it’s a strategy that has played a central role in American politics ever since Richard Nixon realized that he could advance Republican fortunes by appealing to the racial fears of working-class whites.

Many people hoped that last year’s election would mark the end of the “angry white voter” era in America. Indeed, voters who can be swayed by appeals to cultural and racial fear are a declining share of the electorate. link

The administration and its far left supporters have sank to a new low with these tactics and attacks. I do not believe opponents of Obama’s health care agenda will be intimidated. I certainly hope they won’t be. The issue is too important to American citizens, especially the elderly, who don’t want to see their health care system be taken over by an incompetent and corrupt government.

Being affiliated with no political party, it’s easy to sit back and watch the clown show put on by the (d) and (r) parties denouncing each other resistance to health care reform.  As I have stated before, this political party paradigm is a tool to keep American citizens fighting among themselves, in order to distract them from both parties agenda – government intrusion into every aspect of your life and government control of everything American with benefits extending to only those corporate entities who pay to keep them in office.

Well, the time honored tradition of publicly demonizing any objectors of your planned legislation continues in full force with the health care reform fiasco.  The true grass-roots movement of the Tea Parties were successful in bringing Americans of all political affiliations together to demonstrate the disgust with both the (d) and (r) parties having no fiscal restraint and being unrepresentative of their constituents.  Well, the DNC and the progressive media spin tactics attributed anything grass-roots as extremist in nature.  They gave no credit to grass roots efforts and instead, accused the entire movement of being planned and promoted by the gop and extremist.  Well, it worked to the extent of scaring the concerned (d) and unaffiliated centrist voters and keeping them from getting involved.

Well now that Americans representing all political ideologies (except the rabid progressives) have shown up at town hall meetings to express concern over health care reform, the dnc, again, is demonizing all that attend these meeting as extremists and plants of the gop.  Unfortunately, now they are demonizing their own supporters, seeing there is much concern by democrats over the future of America’s health care system.  If anyone recalls, when Obama was campaigning for President, he urged all of his supporters to argue and get in the faces of his opponents.  Here it is:

Now that Americas have turned up the heat on Congress to oppose or question Obamacare and have shown up at town hall meetings to show their disapproval, the dnc, again, turns the spin machine on.  They now claim that all objectors showing up at these meeting with politicians are gop plants and are extremists.  The only problem they may have with that strategy is they are demonizing their own.   Here’s the latest dnc media ad denouncing these conscientious objectors.  This is funny.

To put some additional spin on this, CNN managed to jump on this bandwagon demonizing the town hall meeting protesters.

For full effect, of course, the White House, has to have a press conference on these town hall meetings, saying they are staged.

So, regardless if it was Bush or Obama, it’s all the same game.  Keep the masses polarized by demonizing those who disagree with your policies.  In turn, one half stays occupied fighting the other side. They need to realize we have a lot more commonalities than differences.  The big prize here for American is freedom, liberty, and a non-intrusive federal government.  So people, WAKE THE HELL UP, and take America back from power hungry and self serving politicians and their corporate sponsors.
